Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery

Use of Materials
The Library makes its books and manuscripts as accessible as possible within the limits set by their rarity and condition. The following are not available for interlibrary loan:

• Pre-1900 materials
• Fragile materials
• rare books
• Folios
• Reference materials
• Periodicals (document delivery only)
• Microforms (document delivery only)

Response time:
24 to 48 hours; rush orders add $15.00 per item

Lending period:
One month; a one-month renewal may be requested

Loan fee:
$15.00 per item, unless we have a formal reciprocal agreement with the borrowing library

Overdue fee:
Add $1.00 per day per item

Document Delivery/ Photocopy Services
Periodicals will be photocopied at the discretion of the librarian. Pre-1900 materials and items deemed too fragile will not be photocopied.

Response time:
24 to 48 hours; rush orders add $15.00 per item

Photocopying fee per document:
$20.00 for first 10 pages; 25 cents per additional page

Digital Services
Provides access to the library's collection of rare and fragile materials. Please contact digitallibrarian@chemheritage.org

Lost and Damaged Material
The Library charges $100 plus the cost of materials for a lost item. The Library reserves the right to bill for damaged items.

Payment and Delivery Options
The Library prefers payment via IFM; otherwise, an invoice will be sent along with the materials. Payment of invoices can be made by check or major credit card. Delivery options and fees are as follows:
