CHF’s archival collections include the personal papers and possessions of prominent scientists, organizational records, stamps, and instrument manuals. These collections are available to researchers.

Personal papers
CHF holds the personal papers of more than 45 chemists, chemical engineers, and other notable figures, including several Nobel laureates. Personal papers may include notebooks, lab books, correspondence, manuscripts, article reprints, patents, reports, speeches, and research files. View a list of personal papers >

Organizational records
CHF’s collection includes archival records of professional and trade organizations as well as corporations in the field of the chemical sciences. Organizational records may include founding documents, deeds, minutes, patents, correspondence, annual reports, and more. View a list of organizational records >

Personal possessions and memorabilia
In addition to personal papers relating to an individual’s scientific work, personal archives include items such as scrapbooks, awards, souvenirs, and any manner of personal possessions. They often contain photographic images as well, which can be found in our photographic collection.

Postage stamps
CHF has an impressive collection of postage stamps featuring famous chemists and important chemical discoveries.

Instrument manuals and advertising materials
Manuals and advertising materials for scientific instruments are part of the archival collections.
