Description
The first edition of Franklin’s electrical researches in French (1752) preceded its complete publication in English (1751-54). This second French edition was considerably enlarged from the first and split into two volumes. Franklin’s electrical researches established his scientific reputation in France, leading eventually to his being named associé étranger (foreign member) of Académie Royales des Sciences in 1772.
