The Beckman Center for the History of Chemistry
As CHF’s collections have expanded, their value to scholars of the history of science has increased. The Beckman Center for the History of Chemistry is the arm of the Othmer Library of Chemical History devoted to fostering a community of visiting scholars on fellowships and travel grants lasting from weeks to an academic year. These fellows publish academic and popular books and articles that shape historical study and influence textbooks and education. All fellows give public talks on their research. The center plans to expand this program to include scholarships in education, policy, curating and interpretation at science institutions, and journalism.
